This project combined modern high-rise façade systems with complex heritage restoration, requiring close coordination with the builder, consultants and Dulux technical representatives throughout construction.
Modern High-Rise Works
The new 30-storey student accommodation tower was completed using the full Dulux Acratex façade system, installed from jump-form construction as each level progressed. The system included:
- Surface preparation to all concrete substrates.
- Dulux RenderWall levelling and repair system where required.
- Dulux Acratex Primer.
- Dulux Acratex Texture Coat.
- Dulux Acrashield WP protective coating system.
- Final decorative finish applied as construction progressed.
The completed façade provides long-term weather protection, colour consistency and a premium architectural finish designed to withstand Perth's harsh climate.
Heritage Army & Navy Store Restoration
A significant component of the project involved the restoration of the historic Army & Navy Store building on the corner of Wellington Street and Pier Street. Our heritage restoration works included:
- Complete lead paint removal to both internal and external surfaces.
- Safe removal, handling and disposal of lead-contaminated materials.
- Removal of damaged render and deteriorated plaster finishes.
- Restoration and repair of heritage mouldings.
- Recreation of missing decorative mouldings to match the original profiles.
- Traditional tuck-pointing to existing brickwork.
- Lime render repairs using heritage-compatible materials.
- Lime washing of restored brickwork.
- Internal remedial rendering and finishing works.
- Full façade restoration while preserving the original architectural character.
